# Third-party notices and asset provenance ## Original application material Kora Island's application source, test source, build scripts, documentation and simple geometric icon assets were created for this project. They are supplied under the accompanying MIT license. No proprietary DynamicLake source or extracted assets are included. The geometric logo uses three rounded bars and a rounded background. `mark.svg`, the raster PNG variants and the ICO are original project assets, not system or third-party logos. ## Microsoft framework and Windows interfaces The application targets .NET 10, WPF, Windows Forms (tray only), and documented Windows APIs. It references Microsoft framework/Windows SDK assemblies through the .NET SDK; no Microsoft runtime binaries are included in this source archive. The self-contained publish includes Microsoft runtime components with their own license and notice files. Keep them with the build; this project's MIT license doesn't cover them. Check the .NET runtime's redistribution terms before sharing a published build. ## Explicit third-party package dependencies QRCoder 1.8.0 generates pairing QR codes under the MIT license. Panlingo.LanguageIdentification.FastText 0.8.1 (MIT) names the language of copied text for translation; it carries Meta's fastText library (`fasttext.dll`, MIT) and the compact `lid.176.ftz` language-identification model, which Meta publishes under CC BY-SA 3.0. System.Management 10.0.12 supplies the Windows WMI adapter under the .NET MIT license. The publish also includes the ASP.NET Core shared framework under its Microsoft license and notices. NAudio, Electron, commercial UI libraries and cloud SDKs are not used. The Liquid Glass shader is compiled at runtime by `d3dcompiler_47.dll`, which ships with Windows. ## Kora Voice, the bundled dictation engine A published build includes a `voice\` folder with Kora Voice (`KoraVoice.exe`), built from the source in `engine/`. Kora Voice is MIT licensed and includes code copyright (c) 2025 CJ Pais and contributors, used under the MIT license; the license text with that notice ships as `voice\LICENSE.txt`. Its global key and mouse-button listener is handy-keys 0.3.3 (MIT, copyright (c) 2026 handy-computer), vendored in `engine/vendor/handy-keys` with its license file and one change: a key or button release is swallowed only when its press was. The folder also carries the runtime libraries Kora Voice loads: ggml and whisper.cpp based `transcribe.dll` and `ggml*.dll` (MIT), ONNX Runtime `onnxruntime.dll` (MIT), Microsoft `DirectML.dll`, and the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime DLLs (`msvcp140*.dll`, `vcruntime140*.dll`, `vcomp140.dll`), which are redistributed under their Microsoft redistribution terms. Speech models are not bundled; Kora Voice downloads the one you choose, under that model's own license. ## The translator download Translation needs a second download that the installer doesn't include. When you choose Download in Settings > Modules > Translation, Kora fetches two files from their publishers' official releases, checks each against a SHA-256 fixed in the app, and keeps them in `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Kora\Island\translator\`: - The llama.cpp server, build b9982 for Windows on the CPU (`llama-b9982-bin-win-cpu-x64.zip` from github.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp), MIT licensed, copyright (c) 2023-2026 The ggml authors. Its license files are inside the download. - Index Translate 2B in GGUF form (`Index-Translate-2B.Q4_K_M.gguf` from huggingface.co/IndexTeam/Index-Translate-2B-GGUF), published by the Index Team, licensed under Apache 2.0. Neither is redistributed by this project. Remove in the same Settings page deletes both. ## Fonts and system assets The UI requests system fonts such as Segoe UI and Consolas by name. No font files are distributed. Availability and glyph rendering are determined by the target Windows installation. A requested system sound is played through Windows rather than bundled as a copied audio asset. ## Optional build automation The repository contains a workflow referencing the official `actions/checkout`, `actions/setup-dotnet` and `actions/upload-artifact` actions. Their source isn't included, and they stay under their own licenses and service terms. ## Names and affiliation Windows, Microsoft, .NET and other referenced names belong to their respective owners. DynamicLake is mentioned only as inspiration. Kora Island is an independent project and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the DynamicLake developer or Microsoft. ## QRCoder license The MIT License (MIT) Copyright (c) 2013-2025 Raffael Herrmann Copyright (c) 2024-2025 Shane Krueger Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
